Traditionally BTE hearing aids are for the severe to profound hearing loss or for children, although some have always prefered this style over the others. Open Fit or Reciever in the Ear (RITE
RITE hearing aids are the latest concept in hearing aids and are most effective for high frequency hearing losses. They are a small behind the ear hearing aid with a tiny tube (or wire) that directs the sound into the ear canal using an "open" ear mold. This type of hearing aid addresses the common complaint of occlusion(plugged ear feeling) that people with a more mild hearing loss experience.
